Review: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop, the serum which reconciled me with vitamin C

klairs-freshly-juiced-vitamin-drop-serum-review

Vitamin C is a key ingredient for people interested in K-beauty. Made popular by the Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum,  this molecule has incredible virtues: antioxydant, it stimulates skin regeneration, removes dead cells, refines pores, reduces the appearance of pigment spots while fighting against dullness. The miracle ingredient by definition!

However, vitamin C (or ascorbic acid) is not totally perfect: firstly, it is a fragile molecule that fears the heat and light. Then, it acts so intensely that some skins don’t really tolerate it well.

This is what happened with my sensitive skin when I tested the Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum: my skin felt disturbed, and I have suffered from a monumental rebound effect: my sebaceous filaments turned into blackheads, I had whiteheads and therefore even more post-imperfections that I had before the treatment. A vicious circle that I struggled to stop for a few weeks, but with proper hydration everything was finally settled :)

I was so disappointed after that bad experience with the OST serum about which I had so much positive feedback that I had sworn to flee vitamin C forever! But only fools don’t change their mind … That’s why when I discovered another vitamin C serum which was significantly less-dosed, I tried again!

My latest find? Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Serum, which only contains 5% of vitamin C, but also a rich vegetable cocktail, made to suit the sensitive skin.

After a few weeks of testing, here is my opinion on the Klairs Vitamin C Serum!

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop review

Made famous by the e-shop Wishtrend, Klairs is a Korean beauty brand that I mentioned in this article because I’m not at my first attempt with their products: I had loved the Klairs rich moist soothing serum!

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop contains only 5% of vitamin C (against 20% in the serum OST) to suit all skins, even very sensitive. Its formulation is ultra soft, non-irritating and draws in soothing plants such as Centella Asiatica and lavender to balance the huge power of vitamin C which can irritate the skin.

Those who know a little vitamin C will notice that the bottle is surprisingly transparent! Ordinarily, vitamin C hates the light, but Klairs managed to develop a technology to make it less brittle. No need to place the bottle in the fridge or away from the light.

In addition, this serum contains many extracts with natural whitening effects (like broccoli) to optimize the anti-stain effect and curb the veil of dull complexion.

How to use the vitamin C serum?

Vitamin C remains a powerful ingredient, so it’s important to know how to handle it according to your skin type . Here’s what I recommend :

For normal , combination or oily skin: After cleaning , apply an half pipette of serum on the entire face and neck, and massage well in circular motions until it’s completely absorbed

For sensitive skin like mine , consider using 3 or 4 drops instead of half an eyedropper. Personally, I like to alternate between applying the serum directly on my skin and mix a few drops in an hydrating serum or cream . This technique may be useful to start the test to slowly acclimate your skin to the product.

One use per day may be sufficient in my view, ideally in the evening before going to bed.

The effects of Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop on my sensitive skin

klairs-freshly-juiced-vitamin-drop-serum-a-la-vitamine-c-avant-apres

I began to use the Klairs serum few weeks ago, during my evening skincare routine. The first days , I proceeded as I counseled you above, ie by integrating some drops in my usual serum, hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum from Cosrx . After a few days , I didn’t noticed any reaction or purge as it happened with the OST C20 serum  . So, I tried to use it only on my skin like this:

Cleansing oil > Cleansing gel > Toner/Lotion > Klairs serum > wait a few minutes > Sérum Cosrx à l’acide hyaluronique > cream and eye contour

This gradual integration of the serum into my routine exceeded my expectations: the first effects were soon to be felt : smoother skin texture, brightened skin, blurred tasks … all without dehydrating , quite the contrary : I really felt that my skin was plumper!

In other words , I am blown away !
